Meeting information

Update: This event has been postponed

The GDI/B1MGplus Stakeholder Forum, originally scheduled for 17 September 2026, has been postponed. A new date will be announced here once confirmed. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Aim of the meeting

The GDI/B1MGplus Stakeholder Forum 2026 will introduce the European Digital Infrastructure Consortium for genomic data (Genome EDIC), the proposed long-term governance framework for cross-border genomic data access in Europe.

The forum includes an introduction to the Genome EDIC, a panel discussion on the reuse of genomic and health data and an opportunity for stakeholders’ input.

This forum will focus towards several key questions on Genome EDIC, including:

  • Who will benefit?
  • Who makes the decisions?
  • What would it take for citizens and patients to genuinely trust this infrastructure?

Outcomes of the meeting

By the end of the forum, stakeholders will:

  • Have a better understanding of Genome EDIC
  • Hear directly from patient and citizen perspectives
  • Discuss concerns of Genome EDIC, such as individual rights and trust, and the collective value of shared genomic data
  • Be equipped to actively participate in, scrutinise, or challenge the Genome EDIC as it develops
